People   Major General Michael C. Gould was recommended for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as superintendent, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. Gould is currently serving as director, operations and plans, Headquarters U.S. Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. John LaNear, J.D., Ph.D., has been elected by Grantham University’s board of governors as the university’s new president and chief operating officer. Colonel Carlton D. Everhart II (who has been selected for the rank of brigadier general), deputy director, intelligence and air, space and information operations for flying training, Headquarters Air Education and Training Command, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, has been assigned as deputy commander, politicalmilitary affairs, Combined Security Transition Command- Afghanistan, U.S. Central Command, Kabul, Afghanistan. Jeffrey P. Jarosz has been appointed the new project director of the Marine Corps chapter of the Servicemembers Opportunities Colleges consortium colleges and universities.
