Education Profile The Joint Chiefs of Staff   General Peter Pace, Chairman, attended the U.S. Naval Academy and earned a master’s degree in business administration from George Washington University for the Senior Executives in National and International Security program. Admiral Edmund P. Giambastiani, Jr., Vice Chairman, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with leadership distinction in 1970. General Peter T. Michael Moseley, Air Force Chief of Staff, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1970 and a Master of Arts degree in 1971 in political science from Texas A&M. Admiral Michael G. Mullen, Chief of Naval Operations, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1968 and from the Naval Postgraduate School with a Master of Sciences degree in operations research. He is a graduate of the Advanced Management program at Harvard Business School. General Peter J. Schoomaker, Army Chief of Staff, received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wyoming and a Master of Arts in management from Central Michigan University. He also was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from Hampden-Sydney College. General James T. Conway, Commandant of the Marine Corps, is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. He graduated with honors from career-level officer school and graduated from top-level officer training, again with honors. ♦  Back to Top
